GELANDY Quartz Surfaces: Exploring Color Through Continuous Material Innovation

GELANDY Quartz Surfaces: Exploring Color Through Continuous Material Innovation

At GELANDY, the development of a new quartz surface begins long before a finished slab reaches production.

It starts with materials, color, texture, and repeated experimentation.

Driven by a commitment to continuous innovation, the GELANDY R&D team constantly explores new colors while testing and evaluating new raw materials. From the selection of quartz aggregates to color formulation, translucency, pattern development and trial production, every new possibility is carefully examined before it becomes part of a finished surface.

From Raw Materials to a New Visual Language

For this latest quartz surface development, GELANDY selected high-whiteness, high-translucency quartz aggregates to create a clean and luminous foundation.

Against the soft white background, layers of green, warm brown and delicate mineral-like details move naturally throughout the slab. Large fragmented forms are connected by finer veins and transitional textures, creating visual depth reminiscent of brecciated natural stone.

Rather than presenting colors as isolated elements, the development focuses on how different tones interact with one another. The transitions between white, green and earthy accents are carefully balanced, giving the surface a richer and more organic appearance.

The result is a quartz surface with a distinctive character: bright yet layered, expressive yet balanced, and inspired by the complexity of natural stone.

Inspired by Nature, Developed Through Experimentation

Recreating the visual richness of natural stone in engineered quartz requires more than selecting attractive colors.

The scale of the pattern, distribution of different mineral-like elements, translucency of the background, color transitions and overall composition all influence how the finished slab is perceived.

For this reason, GELANDY approaches color development as a process of continuous experimentation.

Samples are produced, observed and evaluated. Formulations are adjusted. Raw materials are tested. Colors and patterns are refined repeatedly until the different elements work together as a complete surface.

The close-up details reveal the complexity of this process, while the full slab demonstrates how these individual elements ultimately come together on an architectural scale.

Every New Material Deserves to Be Tested

Material innovation is another important part of GELANDY's R&D philosophy.

As new raw materials become available, the GELANDY team conducts trials to understand how they perform and how they may contribute to future surface designs. A material is not considered only for its appearance; its behavior within the manufacturing process and its influence on the finished product must also be carefully evaluated.

This ongoing cycle of testing, observation, adjustment and verification allows GELANDY to continuously expand the possibilities of quartz surface design.

It also reflects an attitude that has remained central to our product development: research with curiosity, experiment with discipline, and evaluate with rigor.

Continuous R&D, More Possibilities for Quartz Surfaces

Color development is never a one-time project at GELANDY.

Behind every new surface are numerous trials involving raw materials, formulations, colors, textures and manufacturing processes. Some experiments lead directly to new products, while others become valuable knowledge for future developments.

Through this continuous accumulation of experience, GELANDY seeks to push quartz surfaces beyond conventional visual boundaries—exploring greater translucency, more sophisticated color relationships and increasingly natural expressions of texture.

From a small material sample to a full-size slab, every stage represents another step in that exploration.

GELANDY continues to experiment, refine and innovate—transforming quartz, color and craftsmanship into new possibilities for interior and architectural surfaces.
