Have you ever worried about stains penetrating your kitchen countertop?
From freshly spilled soy sauce to red wine left overnight, everyday liquids can leave stubborn marks that are difficult to remove. But what if blue ink—one of the most penetrating substances used in countertop stain-resistance testing—could still be wiped away with clean water after sitting on the surface for more than 22 days?
At the GELANDY R&D Center, engineers put the company’s upgraded **Anti-Stain 4.0 technology** to an extreme real-world test.
## Why Is Blue Ink Used to Test Countertop Stain Resistance?
Countertop stain-resistance tests typically involve a range of common household substances. Among them, blue ink is widely regarded as one of the most challenging test agents because of its strong penetrating and coloring properties.
Its extremely fine colorants and highly penetrating solvent system can enter microscopic pores in a countertop surface. Its stable, highly visible color also makes it easier to identify even minor signs of penetration.
For this reason, resistance to blue ink provides a demanding indication of a quartz surface’s density, porosity and overall stain resistance.
## How Long Can an Ordinary Quartz Countertop Resist Blue Ink?
During a comparative test at the GELANDY R&D Center, engineers observed significant differences between countertop products:
* Many standard products began absorbing blue ink within just **two to three minutes**, leaving marks that were difficult to remove.
* Some mid-range products resisted penetration for approximately **two hours**, but staining occurred when the ink remained longer.
* A small number of higher-performing products lasted for around **24 hours**, although faint marks could still appear afterward.
GELANDY’s newly upgraded **Anti-Stain 4.0 technology**, however, is being tested at an entirely different time scale: **more than 22 days**, with continuous monitoring still underway.
## The 22-Day Blue Ink Test
In the test, GELANDY engineers applied blue ink to the quartz surface and left it in place for 22 days.
Following the relevant Chinese national testing method, the surface was wiped repeatedly with clean water. Under the test criteria, a stain is considered removable if it disappears after 20 wiping cycles.
The result was clear: even after 22 days, the blue ink was easily removed using only clean water. The countertop returned to a clean, smooth appearance, with no visible stain remaining.
“Among the ten substances included in our stain-resistance testing, blue ink is one of the most penetrating,” a GELANDY engineer explained. “That is why we use it for extreme performance validation. With GELANDY Anti-Stain 4.0, the ink can still be cleaned with water after 22 days—and the test is continuing.”
## More Than a Laboratory Test—A Better Kitchen Experience
GELANDY Anti-Stain 4.0 was developed to address some of the most common frustrations in modern kitchens: countertops that stain easily, require immediate cleaning or depend on strong chemical cleaners.
The technology is designed to deliver practical benefits for everyday life.
### More Freedom and Less Urgency
Spills do not always have to be cleaned immediately. Whether you are cooking, entertaining guests or rushing out the door, you have more time to deal with stains later.
### Easier Everyday Cleaning
Many common stains can be removed with clean water, helping reduce the need for harsh chemical cleaning products.
### Greater Design Freedom
Homeowners and designers can choose light-colored, solid-color or minimalist countertops with greater confidence, without allowing stain concerns to dictate their aesthetic decisions.
### A More Relaxed Kitchen
The kitchen becomes a space for cooking, gathering and enjoying daily life—not a place where every spill causes anxiety.
## Tested Against Ten Common Household Stains
In accordance with China’s **GB/T 35157** testing requirements, GELANDY evaluates its surfaces using ten common staining agents, including:
* Soy sauce
* Vinegar
* Red wine
* Shoe polish
* Blue ink
These substances represent a range of everyday contamination risks, from food and beverages to strongly colored household products.
Under conventional performance classifications, a surface that can be cleaned with water after 16 hours achieves the highest level of stain resistance. Many conventional products have historically performed at around Level 5, while better-performing products may reach approximately Level 3.
Through continuous material research and technology upgrades, GELANDY officially introduced its **Anti-Stain 4.0** solution on December 1, marking a substantial advancement in countertop penetration and stain resistance.
## Is GELANDY Anti-Stain 4.0 Easy to Clean?
Based on GELANDY’s ongoing laboratory testing, blue ink left on the surface for 22 days could still be removed with clean water under the specified wiping procedure.
This means Anti-Stain 4.0 is designed to give users more time to respond to spills, make routine countertop care easier and reduce dependence on aggressive cleaning products.
Actual cleaning performance may vary depending on the countertop finish, type of contaminant, exposure conditions and cleaning method. The 22-day result refers to GELANDY’s controlled laboratory test.
## 22 Days Is a Milestone, Not the Finish Line
The 22-day result is not the end of GELANDY’s stain-resistance research. It is one milestone in an ongoing program of material development, testing and performance verification.
Through measurable test results and continued investment in surface technology, GELANDY is turning “easy to clean” from a marketing promise into a visible, testable and trustworthy experience.
Choosing **GELANDY Anti-Stain 4.0** means choosing more than a countertop. It means choosing a kitchen that feels more relaxed, more flexible and easier to enjoy.
