The current research program covers several categories of prestigious natural stone.

Italian marbles such as Calacatta Gold, Calacatta Borghini, Arabescato Corchia and Grigio Orobico offer distinctive combinations of bright backgrounds, gold and gray veining, brecciated structures and dramatic directional movement.

Brazilian quartzites—including Taj Mahal and translucent Cristallo varieties—provide inspiration through their crystalline depth, soft mineral clouds and refined combinations of ivory, blue, gray and warm gold.

Premium natural onyx contributes another visual language. Its translucency, layered color and cloud-like formations create a sense of depth that is particularly valued in luxury  counters ,islands and decorative surfaces.

From Geological Beauty to Quartz Color Design

Rare natural stones often establish the visual direction of the premium interior market. Their distinctive colors and structures appear in luxury homes,  hotels, flagship stores, restaurants and collectible furniture.

However, these materials can present several practical challenges. Availability may be limited, individual blocks can vary significantly, matching multiple slabs may be difficult, and some marbles require careful maintenance in demanding environments.

By studying these materials, GELANDY can develop quartz surfaces that express a similarly sophisticated design language while supporting the consistency, fabrication flexibility and project coordination.

The new natural stone-inspired quartz colors are being developed with multiple applications in mind.

For kitchen countertops and islands, the team considers how major veins travel across horizontal surfaces, edge profiles and waterfall panels. For bathroom vanities and wall cladding, the focus includes brightness, softness and continuity. In hotels, retail stores and commercial interiors, the materials must support a recognizable design identity across a larger number of fabricated components.
